New Supervisor Training: 5 Things to Know |
1 | Why Supervisors Need this Training |
New Supervisor Training is a dynamic, cohort-based training that includes virtual, classroom and simulation-based learning. It is child protection-specific and applied to build supervisory knowledge and skill. Our trainers have years of child protection supervisor experience themselves! |
As of 2026, New Supervisor Training is required for all county agency child protection newly hired supervisors in their first year on the job. To learn more about the legislation, visit this site and look for Laws of Minnesota 2019, 1st Special Session, Chapter 9, Article 1, Section 37. |
3 | Currently Open to All Supervisors |
Throughout 2026, New Supervisor Training is open to (but not required for) all county agency child protection supervisors, regardless of years working as a supervisor. This includes tribal child protection supervisors and supervisors at private agencies that provide out-of-home placement services for children involved in Minnesota's county and tribal child welfare system. |
