New MAPCY Course Available

This 2-hour self-paced course is for anyone who uses the Minnesota Assessment of Parenting for Children and Youth (MAPCY) tool, enters it into SSIS, and/or approves it, including staff at county agencies, Tribal agencies, and private agencies. This is a foundational training that is appropriate for new workers as well as a refresher for seasoned workers. Learn more.

New Supervisor Training Pilot Learners Needed!

Curriculum for the upcoming New Supervisor Training is now complete, and the Training Academy is moving through the final stages of preparation to launch this new course! This training is available for Minnesota professionals identified by law who must make a report if they know or have reason to believe that child maltreatment has occurred. This training takes approximately 60-minutes and offers 1.0 CEU. There is also a 15-minute Youth Programs option. Visit our Mandated Reporter Training page to learn more.

New Worker Training

All new child protection workers should plan to take the following courses. Supervisors should assign these courses AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to ensure workers complete prerequisites and can enroll in their preferred cohort. ICWA/MIFPA Foundations (TTCP x101.C)

This training is brought to you by the Tribal Training and Certification Partnership (TTCP). You must complete an ICWA/MIFPA 2-Day Training before you can register for New Worker Foundations (CWTA X113).

  • October 22-23 | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Each Day | Roseville (WAITLIST)

  • November 12-13 | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Each Day | Roseville

  • December 17-18 | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Each Day | Roseville

New Worker Foundations (CWTA X113)

This revised training consists of self-paced, instructor-led (both in-person and virtual), and simulation or virtual reality opportunities.

Foster Parent Pre-Service Training

The next offering of Foster Parent Pre-Service Training for resource parents starts on Thursday, November 20 (Cohort 30), and includes four virtual, weekly meetings from 6:00-8:00 p.m., which are supplemented by self-paced modules to be completed before each meeting. Multidisciplinary Team Training Opportunity

This training is ideal for professionals actively working with a child protection multidisciplinary team, a child protection collaboration in Minnesota or in tribal nations, or those that are interested in starting one. Applicable disciplines include child protection workers, law enforcement, prosecution, medical, mental health, advocacy, community-based liaisons/supports, cultural or spiritual leaders, policy partners, and others. Sessions will utilize case studies, panels, and facilitated exercises led by Minnesota-based child protection MDT professionals to highlight practical suggestions for building effective MDTs and child protection collaborations. Locations and dates include:
