|
Since September 2023, the Training Academy has been working to release and schedule the Motivational Interviewing (MI) courses needed for learners to complete Pathway 1. We are excited to share that the final course - Skills Demonstration - is now available! Pathway 1 courses include (must be completed in order):
-
Self-Paced (4 hours)
-
Instructor-Led Workshop (3.5 hours)
-
Coaching Circles 1-4 (1.5 hours each; learners need to complete 4 coaching circles)
-
Skills Demonstration (4 hours)
Successful completion of each course allows learners to register for the next course. More information about each course in Pathway 1 can be found here. |

We have many open seats in these trainings, and we will continue to add courses based on demand. Minnesota county and tribal child protection workers and supervisors can register for these courses through our Training Portal.
Fidelity Monitoring
DHS is in the process of contracting with Lyssn, an artificial intelligence (AI) data analysis software tool, for ongoing fidelity monitoring and working to establish a roll out process with agencies as staff become trained. Ongoing fidelity monitoring intends to provide workers and supervisors support as they implement motivational interviewing and is a requirement under the FFPSA prevention services plan.
Title IV-E Prevention Services Claiming
Learners who complete Pathway 1 of MI Training will be ready when claiming begins (late 2024). Additional information specific to claiming and other updates are available on the DHS website.
