Training Portal Pro Tips
: The following quick tip is based on a commonly asked question from other Training Portal users.

Pro Tip #2: Update Your Password
Did you receive an email saying your University of Minnesota (UMN) guest account password is about to expire and that you need to update it?

Now that the Training Portal has been in use for over a year, users will likely be contacted to update their password.
The UMN guest account password expires one year from the date the account was created or reset. The purpose of this process is for the security of your information. You can login at my-account.umn.edu to see when your password is set to expire.

The University will send automatic emails several times prior to the expiration date as a reminder to update your password. These emails will come from accounts@umn.edu, will be from the Identity Management Team, and contain directions for resetting your password.

If you forget to change your password by the expiration date, you will not lose any information or records. You will have to contact UMN IT directly at 612-301-4357. This number is available 24/7. Make sure to specify that this is for a guest account.

When in doubt, you can find all of our
Frequently Asked Questions in the right column on your Training Portal.
